Dental Examination
Dental tomography (3D dental volumetric tomography)
Initial examination and planning is the key to a successful treatment.
In Klinik29, our patients receive the most accurate diagnosis and treatment services in a professional and sterile environment.
Before planning the treatment, detailed panoramic imaging method is applied; if necessary, periapical imaging will also be done but most importantly, the 3D DENTAL TOMOGRAPHY IMAGING METHOD, which is found in very few dental clinics, is used. Intraoral examination is done in detail with the radiological examination and a separate unit has been created for the first examination.
All our patients are informed in detail about diagnoses and treatments.
Panoramic and computed tomography radiographs to diagnose problems, plan and shape the treatment are taken within our clinic.
The reason why panoramic dental x-ray is preferred in today’s dentistry is that it fits the whole mouth into a single image, unlike a standard x-ray. In addition, many problems from bone structure problems to gum infection can be easily detected with panoramic x-ray. You can examine the features, why it is used and the advantages of the dental volumetric tomography device in Klinik29 in detail below:
Dental Volumetric Tomography (3D VT)
Dental tomography devices transform the data obtained from the jaw and teeth region into three-dimensional images and transfer them to digital media. The images obtained make the diagnosis of diseases even easier.
Dental Volumetric Tomografi (3D VT) device is a new one prepared specially for the head and neck areas. The desired area can be seen in 3-dimensional tomography so that the patient will be exposed to a very small amount of radiation. It is ensured that the region to be seen in detail can be viewed from the desired angle and from all directions.
When Should I Have a 3D Dental Tomography?
- In dental and jaw diseases,
- In dental implant applications,
- In the jaw-face area traumas,
- In order to examine the relationship with neighboring anatomical structures in detail in the presence of inserted teeth in 3 dimensions,
- Dental tomography for detailed diagnosis of tooth and jaw pathologies,
- For treatment planning prior to dentomaxillofacial surgery applications,
- Surgical template preparation for implant placements,
- For a detailed examination of anatomical structures,
- For Measuring bone quality and density,
- In examination of jawbone contours,
- Examination of the temporomandibular joint,
- Examination of the periapical region and canal fillings in root canal treatments,
- Examination of pathological formations such as cysts and tumors,
- Examination of root fractures.
What are the Advantages of Dental Volumetric Tomography?
- As a result of three-dimensional planning with dental volumetric tomography prior to the placement of dental implants, future complications can be avoided and the aesthetic expectations of the patients can be met.
- Three-dimensional visualization of the vertical and horizontal amounts of the bone to be implanted enables the physician to start the operation with safer information and thus reduce the unwanted complications that may occur in implant operations.
- Shooting with up to 1/6 less radiation than a medical tomography.
- The amount of beam delivered is only 0.5 to 1.5 panoramic x-rays.
- Image quality and resolution are very high.
- Areas that cannot be exposed by panoramic and periapical x-rays can be imaged.
- More detailed diagnosis can be made by taking different sections from the captured image.
- We can obtain high resolution data for implant planning and surgical guide preparation.
- Pre-treatment plans such as soft tissue detection, bone density measurement, mandibular canal distance measurement can be made.
- Post-treatment, post-prosthesis and post-implant post-operative controls can be performed.
- Detecting anomalies such as impacted teeth, cracks, abnormal number of channels or cyst metastasis is possible.
